About

Dr. Ben Malcolm, PharmD, MPH is an esteemed clinical psychiatric pharmacist, entrepreneur, and speaker. He is well known for his pivotal role in trailblazing a new niche within the practice of pharmacy as a ‘psychedelic pharmacist’ and has made major contributions to shaping a culture of safety and benefit optimization within the psychedelic renaissance. He has written and published over a dozen articles in respected medical journals, gave hundreds of professional presentations to myriad audiences, volunteers as a Board Member for the Psychedelic Medicine Association, and teaches in several psychedelic therapy training programs. His clear, dynamic, and engaging speaking provides education to persons, providers, media, and organizations in how medications and medical conditions interface with psychedelic substances. He is the founder of the website Spiritpharmacist.com where he also offers psychopharmacology consulting, courses and webinars, as well as a mastermind training program.

Outside of his non-traditional and highly successful path in pharmacy, Ben has several other accomplishments, skills, and passions. Born on the island state of Tasmania located south of mainland Australia, he immigrated to the United States at the age of 11. He grew up pushing him limits as a competitive swimmer, won several state championship titles in high school, qualified as a four time All American Athlete, and earned an athletic scholarship to the University of California at Santa Barbara where he competed at the Division I level during his undergraduate tenure.

Before embarking on his Doctorate of Pharmacy and Master in Public Health graduate studies, he poured his time into becoming an expert didgeridoo player and continues to play and perform in sound healing rituals to this day. After completing graduate studies he furthered his training and abilities as a pharmacist and educator with post-graduate residencies in tertiary care hospital systems and serving as a clinical professor within Western University of Health Sciences College of Pharmacy. He is passionate about nature, health, cognitive liberty, consciousness, and being a father. Today, he resides an ex-patriot in Costa Rica where he is cultivating a ‘homestay retreat’ venue dubbed Casa de Espiritu, continuing on his path as a serial entrepreneur. Ben strives to bring his truly unique and individuated blend of intelligence, kindness, intention, and intensity to all of his interactions on a daily basis.
